Appalachian Vascular and Interventional Radiology (AVIR), an independent, physician-owned practice based in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our expanding team at Johnson City Medical Center (JCMC) — a 400-bed tertiary care facility, Level I Trauma Center, and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. Our practice provides advanced, minimally invasive, image-guided care across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, improving access to high-quality medicine throughout the Appalachian Highlands.
About Our Practice
AVIR holds the exclusive contract for Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology with Ballad Health, a large not-for-profit health system serving over one million residents. We have a dedicated outpatient IR clinic and a team of five experienced Advanced Practice Providers who manage inpatient consultations and routine procedures. This allows our physicians to focus on complex, high-end interventions, innovation, and program development. Our service line includes a wide breadth of procedures — oncologic (Y-90, chemoembolization), hepatobiliary, genitourinary, peripheral vascular, venous, dialysis access, trauma, and MSK embolizations. We continue to grow rapidly, adding new service lines that bring advanced IR care to rural communities that previously lacked access.
