Family Medicine Physician Job at Swope Health Services in Kansas City, MO

As a Physician for Swope Health Services, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the members of our community that need it the most. The physician provides primary adult patient care as a member of the health care team. The Physician provides clinical instruction, collaborates in the medical management of patients, and serve as a consultant and liaison to improve patient care and health. You play a vital role for the patient-centered medical team to providing quality, patient-centered care.

In your role you will:

• Examines patients to determine the presence of disease and to establish preventive health practices.
• Prescribes and administers medications or delegates immunization duties to the clinical support staff.
• Performs minor, uncomplicated ambulatory surgical procedures, consistent with the limitations of a community health center.
• To be available during working hours for on-site Health Center coverage and to be available for a rotation of nighttime and weekend emergency calls as assigned.
• Assists in developing programs utilizing staff and outside resources to ensure comprehensive state-of-the-art medical care.
• Responsible for the supervision of other assigned practitioners to the clinic site as applicable.

Successful Candidates will have:

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy licensed in the State of Missouri and Kansas
• Demonstrated professional competence and ethical conduct of practice.
• Successful completion of an accredited three years primary care (Internal Medicine/Family Medicine)  residency.
• Board certification or eligibility.
