Job Description

 

The Physician Assistant provides high quality medical care to the patients of Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for our general surgery practice. Performs Patient History & Physical Examinations. Evaluates the medical status of general surgery patients. Writes orders under physician’s supervision. Documents findings on appropriate designated forms. Assists surgeons in the OR.

 

Qualifications

 

Education

  • 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree: Physician Assistant (Required)
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • HCCPA Re-certification exam every six years (Required)
  • Physician Assistant (Required)
  • Registration from Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance (Required)

Experience and Skills

  • 0 - 1 year Physician Assistant (Required)
  • 2 - 4 years Physician Assistant (Preferred)

Required Skills: Strong critical care patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
