MCCH is seeking a board-certified pathologist willing to become a part of a thriving hospital-based practice in Kentucky. The experienced pathologist will be expected to serve as the Medical Director for the clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories. Pathology specimens are a mix of small biopsies (ie, gastrointestinal, breast, GU, skin etc), larger non-complex specimens which include benign gynecologic and malignant gastrointestinal resections, non-gynecologic body fluid specimens, and frozen sections. Specimens are grossed by an on-site PA. This is a solo practice, so experience in the field of pathology is preferred.
The ideal candidate will also have to have a broad knowledge of clinical medicine, laboratory science, Lab informatics, regulatory agency and accrediting body rules and requirements as well as general laboratory operations. The candidate will also be required to provide daily support as well as oversee the on-site services of the clinical chemistry, hematology/coagulation, microbiology and transfusion medicine departments.
An important feature of this leadership position is that the individual is willing to integrate as well as participate in the medical staff and medical community as a role model and representative of / for the MCCH organization. MCCH is looking for an individual who not only excels clinically but also demonstrates strong leadership skills, actively participating in hospital committees, tumor boards, and other collaborative efforts. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
Requirements:
Licensed MD/DO pathologist
Dual AP/CP board certification is required
At least 5 years of experience post-training is preferred
Must be eligible for valid KY medical license
