Indiana University Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Genetic Counseling Manager to lead our Oncology genetic counseling team. The role combines clinical expertise, leadership and program development to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care and the advancement of oncology genetics services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, mentorship and strategic direction for the oncology genetic counseling team
Oversee operations of the oncology genetic counseling program, ensuring compliance with ethical, medical, legal and regulatory guidelines
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for the oncology genetic counselors.
Serve as the liaison between the oncology genetic counselors and the director of clinical genetic counseling and other genetics departmental leadership
Assist departmental leadership with the expansion of cancer genetics services across the system
Represent the oncology genetic counseling teams on internal and external committees and task forces when requested
Provide genetic counseling to patients and families; interpret genetic test results and integrate them with personal and family medical histories
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling
American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) Board Certified
Proven leadership and management experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in genetic counseling, with a focus on cancer genetics preferred
