Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clinical practice in area of expertise within Women's Health
- Provide consultation when needed for the inpatient population as requested.
- Provide clear, complete, direct and electronic communication with staff in all areas of the Medical Center and with community contacts to facilitate smooth patient transitions, quality patient care, and high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with primary care providers, including case reviews and preceptor reviews.
- Provides education and is the facility resource on women's health issues throughout the organization.
- Meet ethical and professional standards as written in the Medical Staff Bylaws and ensure that work products are following written and communicated facility expectations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in selected VA committees as needed.
- Maintain current requirements for credentialing and privileging including necessary license and certifications.
- Pursue high quality continuing education and professional development opportunities as well as serve as a speaker at medical grand rounds annually.
- Participate in continuing education that will enhance health care management skills and knowledge.
- Duties require numerous daily contacts with patients, employees, and visitors, in addition to VA headquarters representatives, VISN representatives, medical care representatives, officials of other government agencies, representatives of our educational affiliates, community and State health care providers, etc.
- Respond to any suspense, Congressional or OIG inquiry, etc. related to Women's Health.
- Creates and monitors quality improvement measures for process improvement in active collaboration with the Quality Management Office. Responsible for compliance with all safety, regulatory, and accrediting body requirements.
- Ensures medical staff compliance with regulations, medical staff bylaws, facility policies, The Joint Commission standards, performance metrics, and other appropriate regulations.
- Works independently, exercises clinical judgment in dealing with complex clinical decisions and daily problems, and coordinates with other disciplines concerning total patient care using professional knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of concepts, principles, and methodology.
- Create and update all applicable Women's Health policies.
- Annually develop and review the Women's health strategic plan.
- Fully participate in the peer review process for Professional Practice Evaluations.
Pay and Benefits:
- $225,000 - $300,000 salary
- Sign-on bonus may be available for well-qualified candidates
