Chair of Medicine Opportunity– Vassar Brothers Medical Center – Poughkeepsie, New York (75 minutes north of New York City)
Vassar Brothers Medical Center, located 75 minutes north of New York City, has an excellent opportunity for a Chair of Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to be a clinical and academic leader for Vassar’s senior leadership team as well as a regional medical leader in a growing health system. The Chair of Medicine will oversee a large group of both community and employed physicians, faculty, postgraduate staff and students.
Vassar’s Department of Medicine has a growing team of 350+ medical experts across 18 sections and services covering a broad spectrum of medical care. The Department of Medicine at Vassar Brothers is committed to active involvement in medical education at all levels including undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education (residents and fellows) and continuing medical education. Vassar Brothers sponsors eight residency training programs, a categorical internal medicine program, a primary care program, and a primary care residency.
The Chair of Medicine at Vassar Brothers Medical Center will be responsible for overseeing all administrative and clinical functions of Medical Services in order to provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients. He/she will share responsibility for the supervision and direction of day-to-day operations and services with the appropriate administrative partners. The Chair will establish performance targets for areas of responsibility and manage performance. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Vassar.
