Bayonne Hospital is seeking a dynamic and experienced Emergency Department Medical Director to lead and oversee both the clinical and administrative functions of the Emergency Department. Key Responsibilities:

• Clinical Leadership: Provide direct patient care while leading a team of emergency medicine physicians, midlevels, and support staff in delivering high-quality, efficient emergency care.

• Administrative Oversight: Manage departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, performance metrics, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

• Quality Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve patient care, reduce wait times, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards in the Emergency Department.

• Collaboration with Hospital Leadership: Work closely with hospital administration, nursing, and other medical directors to align ED operations with hospital-wide goals and strategies.

• Professional Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and development by mentoring and training physicians, residents, and midlevel providers.

Position Highlights:

• Annual Volume: 22-23K

• Acuity: High, with a focus on levels 1, 2, 3

• Full Specialty Support: Extensive backup from all major medical and surgical specialties, including 24/7 ICU and anesthesia coverage

• Advanced Care: Thrombectomy capable hospital and STEMI center

• EMR: Meditech with Dragon for seamless documentation

Requirements:

• Board-certified in Emergency Medicine

• Proven experience in emergency department leadership and administration

• Strong communication, management, and decision-making skills

• Ability to balance clinical responsibilities with administrative duties
