Physician, Locum Tenens or Part-Time, for Skilled Nursing Facility / Nursing homes

Job Description

Overview of the Position

We are seeking locum tenens or part-time Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians to provide compassionate, high-quality care at skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) / nursing homes and assisted living facilities (ALs) in Brenham and Caldwell  areas.

This position offers flexible hours ranging from 1 half-day to 2 full days per week, with the option to expand to 5 days per week at a later time based on interest. Our group is committed to customizing each provider’s schedule to accommodate their professional goals and personal commitments.

Each facility is supported by a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who rounds regularly, resulting in a minimal number of phone calls or messages to the physician.

We offer a highly competitive salary. Please note that the listed salary is based on a full-time equivalent for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct acute and chronic care management visits for residents in the skilled nursing facility or nursing home.
  • Occasionally respond to calls, texts, and other requests from the facilities.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude when communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
  • No overnight call duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).
  • Clinical experience as a physician in one of the following settings: hospital medicine, skilled nursing facilities/nursing homes, or a primary care clinic.

Optional Qualifications

  • Fellowship training in geriatrics, Certification in Geriatric Medicine (ABIM/ABFM), or Certified Medical Director (CMD) through AMDA
