The UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Advanced Therapeutics GI IBD team. This position is full-time (40 hours) and offers a unique opportunity for providers to work remotely and connect with patients via Telehealth.
Responsibilities
As a GI NP with a focus on IBD (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), you work closely with gastroenterologists to manage complex, chronic patients. Your role is both clinical and educational, blending primary care principles with specialty-level management of a lifelong autoimmune disease.
-Diagnosing flares, managing medications (e.g., biologics, immunosuppressants), treating complications like strictures or fistulas.
-Ordering labs, imaging (MR enterography, colonoscopy prep), therapeutic drug monitoring.
-Helping patients understand disease course, biologic risks/benefits, diet, mental health impact.
-IBD patients require frequent check-ins; appointments with patients will be scheduled through telehealth.
-Collaboration within a multidisciplinary IBD team (GI MDs, colorectal surgeons, pharmacists, dietitians).
Required:
-Gastroenterology experience.
-Masters or doctoral degree.
-Graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program with certification.
