Hospice Medical Director, Physician (FT)

Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Full-Time Medical Director for Hospice in Morristown, New Jersey

Atlantic Health System, a prominent non-profit healthcare network in New Jersey, is seeking a dedicated full-time Hospice Medical Director for an in-person position with the Atlantic Hospice Care Program. The Medical Director will provide leadership, expertise, and administrative oversight and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and families. The Medical Director would also assume the responsibility of attending physician, as needed.

Responsibilities include providing supervision to Assistant Medical Directors, ensuring continuous physician coverage, collaborating with hospice management to develop policies and standards of care, and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings. Additionally, the Medical Director will review patient eligibility, provide certification for services, and assist in the development of individualized care plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in end-of-life care.


Atlantic Visiting Nurse Hospice offers a wide scope of services to their patients and their loved ones including a robust volunteer department which offers alternative therapies such as massage, reiki, guided imagery, pet therapy, death doulas, and annual no cost bereavement camp for children grades 1 through 8 as well as an extensive bereavement services which include support groups and 1:1 counseling for loved ones who passed away on our hospice and community.

 

Salary Range: $270,000–$320,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of NJ
  • Board Certification in Palliative Medicine is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working in palliative care
  • Certification by the Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing physician
  • Completion of a Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program
