St. Charles Health System is seeking a Fellowship-Trained Breast Surgeon to join our highly respected St. Charles Cancer Center, where you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering compassionate, evidence-based breast care. The St. Charles Cancer Center in Bend, and a brand-new center opening in Redmond in spring 2026, offer comprehensive, accredited care. We are recognized by the Commission on Cancer and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, ensuring the highest standards of diagnosis, treatment, and support for our patients.
Position Highlights
- Full-Time Role with a blend of outpatient clinic, hospital rounding, procedure time, and participation in interdisciplinary breast clinic
- Participation in weekly multidisciplinary breast conference and collaborative care planning
- On-call responsibility limited to after-hours practice call for your patients
- Primary work locations include the Bend and Redmond St. Charles hospitals and clinics
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and provide surgical care for patients with breast diseases and disorders
- Perform and interpret diagnostic studies and imaging in collaboration with radiology and pathology
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with patient goals and best practices
- Educate patients and families about treatment options, preventive care, and long-term follow-up
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support clinical trial participation
- Attend and contribute to breast program conferences and quality meetings
Administrative & Professional Expectations:
- Ensure all patient care documentation is completed in accordance with billing and compliance standards
- Actively participate in cancer center physician meetings and policy development
- Maintain unrestricted licensure, board certification, and hospital privileges
- Engage in continuing education to support excellence in clinical practice
Required Education and Training
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a General Surgery residency
- Completion of a Breast Surgery Fellowship
- Board certified in General Surgery, with specialty certification in Breast Surgery
Required Licensure and Certifications
- Current and unrestricted Oregon medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Valid DEA license
- Unrestricted ability to participate in Medicare and Medicaid
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet health system driving requirements
- BLS certification
Preferred Experience
- Strong interest in breast program development, clinical research, and patient education
