Jefferson Einstein Hospital Philadelphia is seeking to add a Nocturnist to its growing team of outstanding physicians to support the growth of the practice. Join us; make a difference.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• This is a 7 on, 7 off position with 12-hour shifts. The shifts start at 6 PM and end at 6 AM.
• Candidate is expected to expediently triage, supervise, and staff the admissions from the emergency room and ED observation unit.
• They will not be working alone and will have two APCs and at least four Senior residents to assist with the admissions.

• No procedures are expected. Point of care ultrasound utilization and training is encouraged. There is a closed ICU, so no critical care patients need to be seen.
• The nocturnist is not responsible for responding to codes or RRTs as there will be another physician to address in house needs.
• We Anticipate between 4 to 10 admissions before midnight. If at any time you get more than two in an hour, the night chief will be asked to assist.
• We would like to prioritize all admissions till midnight, but only observation stays after midnight need to be staffed.

• The nocturnist is expected to correctly document all comorbidities on admission and create a comprehensive plan of care visit.
• This is an academic/ teaching position and involves teaching appropriate triage and disposition but also the importance of a Medication reconciliation on admission etc.
• They participate in all quality metrics of the department of medicine and will be eligible for the same non productivity bonus.

Minimum Requirements:

• MD/DO/foreign degree equiv.
• Completion of 3 yr. ACGME-approved Int. Med. residency
• PA license/eligibility
• Must be available for night & weekend coverage
