ChenMed is seeking a part-time Physician Reviewer to support our Delegated Clinical Appropriateness Review functions. This fully remote position plays a vital role in ensuring quality, timely clinical reviews while contributing to coordinated patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in utilization review and a strong clinical background, particularly in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Orthopedic Surgery.
Conduct delegated clinical appropriateness reviews across assigned territories
Complete 2–3 case reviews per day for each market covered (up to 6 markets)
Attend daily health plan and internal coordination calls
Participate in weekly Primary Care Provider (PCP) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) meetings
Advise other physician reviewers and contribute to internal team development
Support ongoing quality and process improvement initiatives within delegated review operations
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Excellent analytical and clinical judgment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Professional and effective communication (written and verbal)
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Unrestricted, active medical license
Completion of Internal Medicine or Family Practice residency
Completion of an Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship
Board Certification in both primary specialty and Orthopedic Surgery
Minimum 2 years of hospital medicine experience preferred
At least 1 year of utilization review or delegated case review experience preferred
