This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening. NPs and PAs with 3+ years’ experience will only be considered. New graduates will not be considered.
Advanced Practice Professional will provide health care and specialized health services to patients and families enrolled in Cardiac Surgery. The APP will coordinate care of this patient population in collaboration with all members of the health care team. This position will be 100% inpatient.
Ideal candidates will have experience in surgical assist in the cardiac OR, vein harvesting. Valve Replacements.

- - Independently evaluates patients in the hospital
- - Ordering/interpreting testing and lab results, modifying plan of care to address results
- - Provide clinical expertise and direction to support patient medication management
- - Maintain accurate documentation regarding patient status, evaluations, and treatments to physicians, streamline the patient transfer process between levels of care, including communicating specific patient needs to internal and external team members
- - Perform other related duties as required to assure patient safety and satisfaction
- - Participate in the development and presentation of educational experiences for patients, families, and health care professionals
Procedures – surgical assist in the OR for cardiac surgery
Schedule – contingent coverage for various shifts. Call shifts, 10-hour, OR shifts
Weekend requirement – Yes, depending on shift covering for
Call requirement – Yes; contingent position will cover for open shift (i.e., Inpatient only or IP w/ call shift depending on need)
OR Time – 4-5 days/week
