About the Role:

As a CRH General Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch mental health services to veterans in underserved VISN facilities. Operating under the general supervision of the VISN2 CRH Psychiatry Section Chief, you will deliver care primarily through virtual modalities like Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) and VA Video Connect (VVC). This remote position ensures you can provide essential care while maintaining a flexible work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prescribing Practitioner: Independently manage outpatient mental health or Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) programs.
• Comprehensive Care: Diagnose psychiatric illnesses and behavioral disorders, offering psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments to veterans.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Extend your expertise to family and caregiver support as needed.
• Innovative Treatment Plans: Develop and implement evaluation techniques and rehabilitation plans.
• Collaborative Support: Work alongside interdisciplinary teams, including psychologists, advanced practice nurses, and social workers.
• Community Collaboration: Align veteran care with community providers and programs.
• Educational Leadership: Educate patients, medical staff, and students about diagnoses, therapeutic options, and advancements in connected care.
• Continuous Improvement: Engage in outcome evaluation studies, systems re-design activities, and stay updated on VHA Telehealth/Connected Care initiatives.
