Position: Staff Radiologist

Location: Battle Creek and Wyoming, MI Campuses

Are you a skilled Radiologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to serve our veterans? The Battle Creek VA Medical Center invites you to join our dynamic diagnostic radiology department. You will be engaged in a mix of administrative, clinical, and educational activities, providing top-notch care and support for our veteran community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret general radiology (including fluoroscopy), body imaging (CT/MRI/US), dexa scans, and musculoskeletal radiology studies.
  • Review radiology requests for appropriateness and respond to consults in a timely manner.
  • Prescribe exam protocols, review image quality, and provide feedback to technical staff.
  • Obtain informed consent and coordinate clinical care.
  • Communicate urgent findings promptly and accurately document in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Provide clinical oversight of medication administration, including contrast material relevant to diagnostic radiology.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs such as peer review and performance improvement.
  • Engage in teaching programs and contribute to clinical committees like radiation safety and tumor boards.

Work Schedule:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship or able to comply with VA Policy on non-citizen appointments.
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Completed residency training in an accredited program leading to board certification eligibility.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Must meet physical and mental requirements to perform essential duties efficiently.
