Faculty Physician Opportunity | A Balanced Role in Patient Care and Teaching

Job Description

Mercy Health is looking for a Family Medicine physician who feels at home in both patient care and mentoring. At Lighthouse Way Family Medicine, you’ll step into a role that blends private outpatient practice with active involvement in the St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency Program. You’ll be part of a team that values relationships—with patients, learners, and each other—and supports a truly collaborative teaching environment.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Split your time between precepting residents and seeing your own patients (1–1.5 days/week)
  2. Round on the inpatient service every 4–6 weeks (Thursday to Thursday)
  3. Contribute to the academic life of the program through didactics, lectures, recruitment, and mentoring
  4. Serve on residency committees (CCC, PEC)
  5. Join a consistent call rotation, thoughtfully scheduled in advance and easily traded as needed

You’ll be credentialed at Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital and other Toledo Metro facilities, and supported with time protected for education and program responsibilities. This is a full core faculty position, with opportunity to grow into leadership and help shape a long-standing, stable residency program.

Practice Philosophy:
At Mercy Health, we prioritize person-centered care, professional integrity, and meaningful academic mentorship. We’re building a future of family medicine grounded in community, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

Why Join Us:

  1. Strong and supportive faculty team in a respected residency program
  2. Opportunities to lead and contribute meaningfully to resident education
  3. A balanced, weekday schedule with a thoughtful call structure
  4. Competitive compensation and full benefits, including malpractice with tail and relocation support
