Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatrician with a passion for complex care to join our growing and highly collaborative section for Medical Complexity within the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to provide both inpatient and outpatient care for children with the highest levels of medical complexity, supported by a robust interdisciplinary team at one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care for a panel of approximately 475 medically complex pediatric patients, including those with technology dependence and multi-specialty involvement.
- Deliver care across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and via telehealth at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
- Participate in a hybrid schedule: 3 half-days of clinic and 3 half-days of ED/inpatient consults per week.
- Work closely with case managers, pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, and nurse practitioners to deliver coordinated, family-centered care
- Share call responsibilities (home call) and holiday inpatient coverage with three other physicians.
- This is a Clinical Practice (CP) track position. While primarily clinical, opportunities for teaching and quality improvement are available.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Pediatrics
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Tennessee
- Demonstrated interest and experience in caring for medically complex children
- Preferred: Strong leadership, organizational, and mentorship skills
