St. Josephs Healthis seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team on a per diem basis.This critical role provides evaluation, diagnosis, and acute treatment for patients experiencing behavioral health emergencies.

The CPEP psychiatrist plays an integral role within a multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure timely, effective interventions and patient stabilization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct psychiatric assessments for individuals in crisis
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychotropic medication management
• Collaborate with emergency department staff, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and security personnel, to ensure coordinated and compassionate care
• Recommend and facilitate appropriate dispositions, including inpatient admission, outpatient referral, or community support services

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active New York State medical license or eligibility
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Prior experience in emergency psychiatry or related behavioral health settings preferred

COMPENSATION

• $200/hr with a differential for evenings and weekends
