Saint Agnes Medical Center, in partnership with its Internal Medicine Residency Program, is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Academic Hospitalist to join our inpatient faculty team in Fresno, California. This position is ideal for a board-certified physician who is passionate about inpatient care and committed to the academic development of residents and medical students.
This is an inpatient-only position with a strong emphasis on medical education, clinical excellence, and scholarly activity. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model and mentor for internal medicine residents and contribute to the continued success and growth of our ACGME-accredited residency program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct inpatient care on teaching hospitalist services at Saint Agnes Medical Center.
- Supervise and educate internal medicine residents and medical students on clinical rotations.
- Participate in daily rounds, case-based teaching, bedside instruction, and curriculum development.
- Serve as attending on academic teaching teams with responsibility for resident assessment and feedback.
- Attend and contribute to faculty meetings
- Engage in quality improvement projects, patient safety initiatives, and scholarly activity.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, compassion, and lifelong learning.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of California.
- Commitment to academic medicine and resident education.
- Previous teaching experience is highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an academic or teaching hospital environment.
- Interest in quality improvement, medical education innovation, or clinical research.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team-based approach to care.
