MAJOR DUTIES: - Work as a primary health care provider in a clinical setting. - Provide urgent and non-urgent care for all patients. - Obtain a health history from the patient and records findings. - Perform special screening and diagnostic tests, request laboratory tests and radiographic studies and uses the results in assessing the patient's medical problems. - Provide advice and screens patients by telephone and in person to determine nature and urgency of their problems. - Assess the physical and psychological health status of patients and their families through health and developmental history-taking and physical examination in accordance with (IAW) established protocols. - Develop and provide individual and group patient health teaching as appropriate on topics related to health promotion. - Prescribe a variety of medications to patients based on the medical treatment facility (MTF) formulary. Performs other duties as assigned.
