Laborist - Per Diem (1 Week/Month) - Avita Health System - Galion, Ohio

Avita Health System, a community-focused healthcare provider dedicated to delivering high-quality care, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Laborist to join our team in Galion, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking for a flexible schedule, offering 24-hour shifts for one week per month.

About the Opportunity:

As a Laborist at Avita Health System, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional obstetric and gynecological care to our patients. You will be responsible for managing labor and delivery, providing emergent gynecological care, and collaborating with our dedicated team of nurses and specialists. Our birthing center handles approximately 400 deliveries annually, offering a supportive environment with a manageable volume that allows for personalized patient care.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing comprehensive medical care to laboring and postpartum patients.
• Managing obstetric emergencies and complications.
• Performing deliveries (vaginal and C-sections).
• Providing emergent gynecological services
• Collaborating effectively with nursing staff, anesthesia, and other medical professionals.
• Maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
• Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
• Active and unrestricted Ohio medical license (or ability to obtain one).
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications.
• Demonstrated experience in managing labor and delivery, including emergent situations, and proficiency in addressing acute gynecological issues.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
• Commitment to providing patient-centered care.

Schedule:

• Per diem position, working one week per month/24 Hour Shifts
