ResponsibilitiesThe Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct care for patients with advanced heart failure and/or pulmonary hypertension to include but not limited to proficiency in mechanical circulatory support devices under the direct supervision of the advanced heart failure physician.
The Opportunity:
- PRN weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday)
- 7am - 7pm shift
- 1 - 2 weekends per month
- Obtain medical histories when necessary.
- Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
- Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
- Order diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
- Provide preventive health screenings and immunizations for adults.
- Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
- Assure charts are signed off by the doctor within 24 hours and/or according to hospital protocol.
- Maintain patient's privacy and confidentiality.
- Make follow up calls to check patients progress.
- Assist doctors with phone coverage and hospital rounds.
- Work closely with other nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.
- Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.
Qualifications- Master's degree or higher in nursing and/or equivalent
- 3-5 years clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting required.
- 1-3 years previous experience as a NP in an acute care setting or equivalent RN experience in ICU or CVICU
- Certified Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Associate
- Licensed as a RN and APRN
- BLS required (BLS-CPR)
- ACLS required

Pay Range$56.12 - $58.88 /hour
