Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Network Chief of Emergency and Trauma Services. This position is based at Bassett Medical Center and provides oversight of emergency medicine at six locations and convenient care at two locations for the Bassett network in rural, upstate New York.
Bassett Network’s emergency medicine visits total approximately 82,500 annually, with the highest volume at the level 3 trauma center at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown. A staff of 25 employed physicians and 23 advanced Practice Clinicians provide coverage for the network’s six emergency departments, which have a combined bed capacity of 70 system-wide. Bassett Medical Center is a STEMI Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Bassett is an integrated healthcare system that serves a rural eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in central New York. It is a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University and an affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The annual salary for this role is $500,000 to $530,000 with a sign-on bonus of $200,000. This range represents Bassett’s good faith belief for the range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
The position splits time between administration (.60) and clinical (.40). The new chief will have responsibility for designing a regional departmental structure that could create additional administrative support in Bassett Emergency departments outside of Cooperstown.
