Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT) Opportunity in Charleston SC!

Job Description

The Ralph H Johnson VA Health Care System is recruiting Advanced DRT's with appropriate certifications in CT. This opportunity is located in historic downtown Charleston, SC and has been approved for the education debt reduction program (additional qualifying details below). 

  This Advanced Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (ADRT) Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist position is assigned to the Radiology Service within the Ralph H. Johnson VA Healthcare System. The ADRT at this level performs routine to complex CT and general diagnostic radiology exams/procedures.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of routine to complex CT examinations, including but not limited to scans of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities, as well as vascular, musculoskeletal, and cardiac imaging.
  • Performs routine, urgent, emergent or research studies and post-processing of images. Assures images are properly identified with patient demographics and verifies archiving on PACS.
  • Examinations are performed with or without contrast materials based on imaging requisition and pre-defined protocols. Adheres to contrasting policies.

EDRP Authorized: Up to $200,000 over a 5-year period for qualified candidates
Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37–50 days of annual paid time off per year (13–26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year). Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full-time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy of up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children, up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
