Job Description:

The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Toledo is seeking a physician to join our established team of Anesthesiologists, CRNA s, and CAA s. The department provides both inpatient and outpatient anesthesia services for a large variety of surgical specialties. The Anesthesiologist will treat acute and chronic pain conditions, provide intensive care services, monitor the course and conduct of anesthetics provided, and instruct current medical students in practice. The successful candidate must be board certified or in the examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiology. Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in providing the utmost standard of care, medical education, and research opportunities within the Department of Anesthesiology.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, prepare, and provide patient care in anesthesiology; mentor and instruct medical students and residents in the discipline of anesthesiology.
  • Participate in educational, clinical research, and administrative assignments as required by the Department of Anesthesiology.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: MD or DO Required
  • Eligible for or in possession of a valid medical license from the state of Ohio
  • Board certified or in the board examination process of the American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Eligible at the University of Toledo and the University of Toledo Medical Center at the level of Instructor (board-eligible) or Assistant Professor
  • Committed to the education of fellows, residents and medical students
  • Eligible for credentialing at the University of Toledo, the University of Toledo Medical Center and affiliated healthcare institutions.
