Emergency Medicine Physician Opportunity

Location: Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)
Client: U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Contract Partner: Veterans Engineering

Veterans Engineering is seeking Residency-Trained Emergency Medicine Physicians (ABEM) or Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physicians with Emergency Room experience to support emergency care services at the Memphis VA Medical Center. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve our nation’s veterans in a flexible, long-term federal healthcare environment.

Position Overview

• Specialty: Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine, or Family Practice – with current ER experience
• Board Status: Board Certified / Board Eligible
• Schedule: 10–12 hour shifts (Day / Night / Swing)
• Shift Flexibility: Weekdays & Weekends
• Call: None
• Patient Volume: 1–2 patients per hour
• Patient Demographics: Adults only
• Types of Cases: General ER (no major trauma, heart attacks, or strokes – such cases are routed to local hospitals)
• EMR System: CPRS
• Credentialing Timeline: ~4–6 weeks
• Start Date: As soon as credentialing is completed
• License: Any active U.S. State medical license accepted

Minimum Requirements

• Residency-trained and Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Active ER experience
• BLS and ACLS (AHA preferred)
• DEA certification
• U.S. Citizenship (VA requirement)

Contract Details

• Duration: 5-Year Contract
• Base Year POP: Once cleared– March 31, 2026
• Reason for Need: Ongoing staff shortage
