Adventist Health Castle urgent care clinics are a mission-minded, community-focused, team dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible care to patients of all ages. We treat non-life-threatening conditions with efficiency and compassion, supporting our local healthcare system with walk-in, same-day services. We are seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner, specialized in family or adult gerontology medicine, to deliver timely, patient-centered urgent care services at all our locations, as needed: Kailua, Pearl City, and Kapolei. The per diem Nurse Practitioner will independently evaluate and manage patients in a fast-paced, urgent care setting. Incumbent will maintain responsibility to provide expert clinical care including comprehensive or problem-focused health assessments, evaluate and treat a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, perform minor procedures, (e.g., suturing, abscess drainage, splinting) to scope of practice and level of competency, write prescriptions, formulate treatment plans, and order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays). Clinic is open 7 days a week and the standard schedule is 7 AM to 8 PM, rotating schedule.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an accredited graduate-level program that produced a master’s degree in clinical nursing or nursing science in relevant field of specialty. Current Hawaii Registered Nurse License. Current Hawaii Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License with prescriptive authority that meets education requirement(s) for Hawaii state APRN prescriptive authority. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Ability to work weekends, and float to all Adventist Health Castle Urgent Care Clinic locations required. Department of Transportation Medical Examiner (DoT) Certification required within 90-days of starting. Reimbursement will be provided for cost of certification, and the time to train. Hawaii medical licensed or eligible, and meet the hospital’s medical staff credentialing standards.
Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years NP experience or equivalent in emergent or outpatient primary care setting. Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Board Certified Adult-Gerontology (AGPCNP-BC) or Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP).
