Anesthesiologist Assistant (Job Opening 447104) -

Scope of Position The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive.  The Anesthesia Assistant (AA) functions as an integral Member of the patient care team, whose members reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect.  The team provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward the achievement of quality patient care outcomes, improvement of service levels, reduction in length of hospitalizations and reduction of cost.  Position Summary The AA demonstrates excellence in all areas of anesthesia practice including but not limited to anesthesia case management, staff education and clinical research.  The AA manages complex, unpredictable anesthesia situations.  The AA must be competent in technical, cognitive and interpersonal skills required to serve those patients receiving anesthesia care and services.  The AA is expected to practice within the established Medical Center, anesthesia, and standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to the Intensive Caring Value Statements.  The AA works as a member of the patient care team and collaborates with an MDA in the anesthetic care of each and every patient.

For Hire:

Graduate of an accredited CAHEA-AMA/CAAHEP training program with 2-3 years experience in a level 1 hospital. Current Ohio Anesthesia Assistant  licensure.  Current certification by the National Commission for the Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.  Must be eligible to obtain clinical privileges as designated by the OSUMC Corporate Credentialing Office.
