The Neonatology Division at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins Children s Center is seeking to fill two (2) full-time positions to provide clinical care as Neonatal Hospitalists in our 49 bed level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as part of a multidisciplinary team. The position is open for immediate hire.
Responsibilities will include attendance at delivery for high-risk newborns and providing direct patient care to critically ill newborns including management of premature infants and newborns with complex medical problems as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a neonatologist. Scheduling will involve two to three 12 hour daytime shifts per week and one weekend 16 hour overnight shift per month.
Qualified candidates should have successfully completed an ACGME accredited residency in Pediatrics and be Board-eligible in Pediatrics and able to obtain a Maryland Medical License. Experience with high-risk deliveries and in a level IV NICU is necessary; additional NICU or ICU experience after residency training is preferred, but not required. Essential skills include but are not limited to: airway management (intubation), umbilical line placement, comfort with neonatal mechanical ventilation management including high frequency ventilation, and provision of parenteral nutritional support.
