Tufts Medicine was formed by Tufts Medical Center, MelroseWakefield Hospital, Circle Health (including Lowell General Hospital), as well as the physicians on New England Quality Care Alliance.  With a shared vision of high-quality care delivered in the setting that serves our patients best, Tufts Medicine brings together exceptional, value-driven providers who are setting a new standard for health care in Massachusetts.  We have the strength of both academic medicine and community care.  Our distributed academic model and highly inclusive culture promotes an evolving health system while providing frictionless care to our patients. Tufts Medical Center, the anchor of Tufts Medicine is an internationally-respected academic medical center – a teaching hospital where we pride ourselves not only in the sophistication of the care we provide but the compassionate way in which we provide it.   Tufts Medical Center is a 400-bed, tertiary care medical center located in downtown Boston, adjacent to the Tufts University School of Medicine. The Medical Center is known for its basic, translational and clinical science research as well as its expertise in health policy. The Medical Center is in the top 10 percent of independent institutions receiving federal research funding. Our mission of advancing knowledge and training students to become future investigators drives us forward to quickly turn innovative research into pioneering care.
